A Consistent Approach to Wellbeing

Positive education describes an approach to education that combines the science of positive psychology, and other evidence-based sciences, with traditional education principles. It is a holistic strategy that aims to cultivate wellbeing in students, staff and the wider school community.

Parents are important, yet often overlooked, stakeholders in school communities and are not typically included in positive education strategies, despite research suggesting that the wellbeing of parents and their children are interrelated. We also know that students benefit when there is a strong and supportive relationship between home and school. That’s why our unique triad approach involves the engagement of parents, alongside staff and pupils.

By offering parents the opportunity to attend training in positive education and understand core positive psychology practices, we create consistency in language and modelling of skills across both home and school settings, thereby reinforcing student learning.

As well as delivering training sessions to educate and inform parents about the positive education interventions being used in school, we also provide group and individual coaching sessions for parents. This allows parents to experience the interventions for themselves and also consider how they can apply these strategies and tools to support their children effectively.

Our Services

Thank you for all the work you are doing and for the feedback. The sessions have been extremely useful, especially considering what was happening at school with some of the other students. VL has spoken more openly with teachers about how he has been feeling and I believe he is gaining confidence in class due to your techniques. I also see that he is starting to be more aware of his choices.

PJ told me that he really enjoys your sessions and finds them helpful. It's great that he is benefiting from coaching and I definitely feel that he seems happier and calmer. The sessions have made a big difference to Paul's confidence and self-belief. And he enjoys them!
Thank you

Here's what our parents say

"Every day in a hundred small ways our children ask us, “Do you see me? Do you hear me? Do I matter? This behaviour often reflects our response."
